About HD Auto Repair and Tires
We offer the best service possible to help you get the stress out of servicing and maintaining your car. WE BEAT ANY PRICE
Located at 618 E Pioneer Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX 75051, HD Auto Repair and Tires operates as an auto repair shop serving Grand Prairie in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In Grand Prairie, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Texas vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ6 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach HD Auto Repair and Tires at (214) 235-0527; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 119 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Grand Prairie.
Grand Prairie is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Grand Prairie is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Do not leave your car here. Horrible service and absolutely zero communication. I was constantly left wondering what was going on with my vehicle because nobody would answer calls or give updates. It got so bad that I actually had to call the police just to find out the whereabouts of my car because nobody at the shop would tell me anything. That is completely unacceptable and beyond unprofessional. What should have been a simple repair turned into a stressful nightmare filled with frustration, confusion, and wasted time. The staff clearly do not care about their customers or the vehicles left in their possession. Save yourself the stress and take your car somewhere else.

The gentlemen working here give me a quote to service my A/C and it only took them an hour. They are upfront about the cost and good at what they do.

I hope this can be helpful for others. DO NOT take your car to this shop or you will take it home in worse conditions. I spent almost $ 4000 for them to fix an oil leak that supposedly they found. I gave them three chances to do the job right and they never did. They also changed my brakes and after they changed them the car now shakes real bad when I go 60 miles or faster. They are NOT honest people. They donβt know what theyβre doing, the only thing they know how to do is take your money.

I had a really scary situation earlier this month after running over a box on the highway that was filled with some type of expanding styrofoam. It wrapped all around the driveshaft underneath my truck, and some of it even melted onto the exhaust line. I was honestly panicking because I could hear what sounded like the driveshaft squealing, with the styrofoam flapping underneath while I was driving. I took the nearest exit, which happened to be the same exit I take for work and drove straight to HD Complete Auto. I had never used them before, but I always see them working every morning on my way to work. As soon as I pulled in and explained what was going on to Chris, they jumped into action. Nathan immediately had me back into a bay. He used a manual jack and lifted my truck up, got on the ground, and started cutting, peeling, and scraping the styrofoam off, including the parts that had melted onto the exhaust line. Nathan and Alex were already working on another car, but I can tell that they heard the urgency and worry in my voice and did not hesitate to help me. I truly cannot express how thankful I am for them. I know that they saved me tons of time and money versus going to th

I recently had my brakes fixed, and the experience was fantastic! Chris was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and even cracked a few jokes that made the visit enjoyable. He really knows how to take care of customers, and the service was top-notch. My car was ready sooner than expected, and everything was explained to me clearly. I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for great customer service and reliable repairs!
